I love intentions. I truly believe that energy follows intention and even though it can be a bit of a snakes and ladders kind of experience it is so worth the journey. But something to remember – intentions are not goals. Goals are to achieve an outcome through specific steps. They are the exhale of an intention.
Intentions are, instead, a process of ushering our dreams into reality. We expand into them as we expand in an inhale. That is why intentions shift and change as they manifest and why there is always learning and growth in the journey.
Goals we can control (well, mostly) – intentions not so much! Once we realise this we can enjoy the journey, listen deeply, make conscious choices, create goals when we can and, for the rest of the time just appreciate the process unfolding.
When we create intentions it is helpful to note what feels difficult or even impossible without allowing it to become an insurmountable object. Once we do that, it will keep us stuck.
Our current reality, various limiting beliefs, old emotional trauma, ingrained habits, etc can all feel insurmountable if we let them. But once we start addressing them they will begin to shift and change and what felt impossible in the past is suddenly not.
Our choices are significant here. Making sure your choices are in alignment with your big picture / your intentions (most of the time) helps the process of manifesting. It’s crazy how often we want one thing but do completely the other!
To truly embrace ‘limitless possibility’ we need to learn how to listen to the ‘flirts’ around us without blindly following them. By remembering that everything is a choice and every choice has a consequence we can choose to say yes or not.
Take time to see if they fit, like you would with someone who was flirting with you. That flirt may signal the ‘One’ or just an enjoyable moment in time. But it also could be better avoided, something you will only know by listening to your own little voice rather than just following their lead.
This brings me to an essential tool in your toolkit. A centring process. Do you have one? How do you find your peaceful-centred place? What space do you make your best decisions from? Can you do this easily when you are out and about or do you need your meditation cushion or running shoes to get there? What can you do while you are in the middle of a shopping centre to find that space?
We often know these but we seldom write them down. Sometimes we haven’t even really thought about what they are. But taking time to identify and write them down is transformational. Why? Because we forget them when we most need them!
Next tip – consider what sort of check-in, accountability or other process will help you learn to stay more easily in that centred place so you can listen and evaluate all those beautiful flirts that come your way as you next begin your inhale. Make one of your intentions to mindfully create your life instead of chasing every flirt. 😉
