7 Patterns that Can Stop You in Your Tracks!

May 15th, 2012

lots of great responses from my eZine article last month…….. hope you enjoy it!

Gay

These 7 patterns can absolutely stop us in our tracks.

(c)gaylandeta.com.au
The first step is to identify what is stopping you, then next to break the pattern.

The first and the one that can keep us on the brink of our next step (sometimes for years) is called the Dweller on the Threshold’ This is all about being stuck. When we are in this pattern we become caught in beliefs like: ‘Something or someone is preventing me from moving forward’ or ‘Nothing feels possible’. When we are stuck we are in the way of our own self, our little personality is stopping the True Self from stepping forward.

To move out of this position we have to commit to the bigger plan of our life. It is time to stop being small and start trusting in our True Self and the journey we are on.
The next pattern is Illusion. In this pattern we are cheating ourself and are caught in the illusion of reality instead of seeing reality. We are fooling ourself, taking action without really knowing what we are doing, following blindly and judging instead of using our powers of discernment. We become identified with an idea, an opinion and information instead of being clear about what we want, being honest about where we are and making a choice based on truth.
In Uncertainty fear becomes our controller. Instead we need to step up and take responsibility and dare to see. We must develop the courage to use our inner senses and break old patterns such as fight or flight and a lack of decision and action.
The pattern of Inertia is apparent when we are hiding from our self, becoming too busy or procrastinating. The route out of this pattern is to simply see the essentials and act accordingly. We can choose to do it with pain (moaning and groaning) or with goodwill – my suggestion is to use the goodwill track! Feels much easier.
The next pattern is Blindness. When we are caught in this trap Read the rest of this entry »

Heads up! Full Moon followed by 11:11

November 10, 2011

This went out to my private clients last night, and I thought I might post it here as well just in case you keep in touch by RSS…. If you aren’t a client but want to stay in touch join me on facebook!

11:11:11  is coming up – a day strongly aspected with 11 symbology. In addition to the numerological significance (11 is said to be a master number) there has been much written about the 11:11 doorway which is part of the December 2012 mythology.  All of these dates and events are said to be opening us up to higher dimensions and better ways of being. Certainly I am seeing people working with major transformations right now in the clinic.

We also have the added bonus of the 11th directly following the full moon (letting go!) that happens on the 10th.

I feel that the interesting thing about any of these dates is the impact that we can have if we work with them…. Research proves that only 1% of people are needed to change anything…. Imagine how many people will be meditating for peace on the 11th or doing something spiritually enlightening? I would invite you to join by spending a few minutes in silence at 11:11. If that won’t work how about stopping sometime at 11 minutes after the hour – you will be joining others somewhere in the world! Another neat idea could be to spend a few moments each hour at 11 minutes past! Just set your phone or watch for hourly reminders.

Another very cool thing that is taking place on 11:11:11 is the media event One Day on Earth, where people all over the world will record their human experience over a 24-hour period. This event will enable them to contribute their voice to the second annual global day of media creation. You can be part of it by signing up at One Day on Earth

I just got a new bff – a puppy (you probably know if you have friended me on facebook or joined my like page https://www.facebook.com/Createthelifeyouwanttolive ) … she’s been on my wish list for a few years and she just waltzed into my life… watching her has reminded me of the wisdom of just taking life a wiggle at a time!

Whatever you do Friday – or every day – enjoy it a wiggle at a time! :)

Wishing you all the best,
Gay

PS just been organising dates and others things including :

v  Create your Year dates for January

Hole in the Road: Letting go of old patterns

Our life is created around patterns of behaviour that we have developed to cope with, or in response to our experiences in life.

letting go

Often we wake up to old patterns that aren’t working for us anymore. We recognize that they are not useful and want to change but can’t. It can feel extremely frustrating to keep battling patterns we know are dysfunctional.

How to get out of them? First step, recognize the pattern
in its entirety and how it has been useful. No matter how dysfunctional the behaviour, it was a defense mechanism that once upon a time worked. (Or at least was better than any other options.) Forgive yourself for being human!

Next decide what new behaviour could work and experiment with implementation. You will probably find it works for a little bit until you fall into the habit of the old behaviour. Again forgive yourself for being human.
Think it through a bit more, recognize the complexity of the pattern, maybe talk to some impartial outsiders to help you figure out a few more tactics and let go of a bit of baggage and have another go.

It will probably work a bit better this time. Or at least until you get stressed. Frustration or overwhelm hits and you might just pull out the old habit because at least it used to sort of work. And wham there you are again. Forgive yourself yet again for being human.

Maybe have another chat with your impartial support, dig a bit deeper and unpack a bit more of the old baggage, learn a few new techniques for dealing with stress, frustration and overwhelm and keep on keeping on practicing the new habits – until one day you notice they are your normal way of being.

Lets explore this in action, let’s say your old behaviour is screaming at or offering the silent treatment to the kids or your partner when they won’t help. (This is a pretty generic behaviour and one most people would prefer not to do.) Read the rest of this entry »

time to let go!

September 18th, 2010

Crazy times – so busy! I haven’t done much blogging  lately and am vowing to do it more often in the future! hmmm hope that isn’t wishful thinking! I got this email the other day from astrology.com which I thought was quite thought provoking. Believe in astrology or not – often forcasts will help us to reflect on something that is challenging us to grow – always wonderful to see a way we can do that in a positive way.

enjoy…..

Pluto, which has been retrograde since early April, goes direct on September 13-14 in Capricorn. Now that it is back in forward gear, it can continue its main purpose of reorganizing practical matters especially to do with career and money.

Pluto indicates to us that the path ahead is never straight. We take three steps forward and then pause to either reconsider, or go deeper to find better answers, or reverse our actions to undo our mistakes. If we have learned the lessons this planet is trying to teach us we all should have become a little wiser, and a bit more resilient because of the experiences of recent months. We should have learned the lessons that Pluto has been asking us to learn.

Pluto is a very slow moving planet, and we are still early in Pluto’s sixteen year journey through Capricorn, the first phase of which is supposed to be all about destruction.

We are being asked to review and re-evaluate our lives, our habits, our patterns of behaviors that belong in the past and no longer work for us. This is the time to dispose of old baggage we are carrying around before we can start to rebuild for the future. Ask yourself if you are hanging on sentimentally to something once very valuable or even essential to you, but no longer works for you.

In order for true transformation to take place, each one of us has to learn to let go of what is worn out and what we have outgrown — whether it be in our attitudes, our relationships or even our possessions. Only when we have cleared our decks, can we open ourselves up to new growth. The time for backtracking and reconsidering is now over. Start building and creating what will stand the test of time in your personal path ahead.

hope it struck a revelance for you.

enjoy!

lunar eclipse

June 25th, 2010

Anyone feeling the intensity of the energy around at present? The lunar eclipse takes place tomorrow, I just got got a newsletter from Linda Hill about it and I thought I would share this paragraph – have a look at her website for more www.sabiansymbols.com

……The tenor of this blog is a little more intense than my usual newsletters as this is a very intense and meaningful event. Wherever you are in the world, this eclipse is set to have some interesting, intense and profound energies flowing from it. This is because this full Moon is conjunct (smack on) Pluto, the planet of transformations, death, rebirth, sex, and a slew of other deep and meaningful things. Combining Pluto with the full Moon, plus being an eclipse and taking into account the Sabian Symbols points to this being a meaningful, and for many, a deeply transformational time. Some will instigate major changes in their lives, some will have the changes landing on them, sometimes unexpectedly. The trick with this eclipse is, even amongst the more challenging manifestations that emerge, is to take advantage of the life transforming, empowering and engaging energies of this extremely strong lunation. The effects of eclipses stretch on for months, and, if you experience a major event on any level; physically, mentally, spiritually or emotionally, effects can stretch on through the coming months and years. This is a time of crossroads, decisions and change…..

and just a quick plug :) if you are having trouble with your transformation the work I do can really help you to step into it.

Enjoy!

thinking of snow and letting creativity drift in ….

June 6, 2010

I have been feeling impatient lately. I am in a time of perturbation (love that work for agitation!) in my work…. I am in the process of making changes and growing – like us all and, to be honest, I am now finding the waiting and patience bit required to allow the process of transformation really hard!

Yesterday I started thinking about snow. Partly as a grateful Queenslander that our sunny winter days rarely fall below the mid 20′s but also as an ex-Canuk remembering many types of snow. For example there is the crazy blizzard that you can’t go out in without a danger of dying, there is the slushy yucky stuff that just drags you down and there is the beautiful soft silent flakes that drift down.

Seems to me that being in a time of ideas is a little like being in a snowfall. And right now I am in the big soft quiet fall of snow, one that drifts down quietly. Beautiful to watch and even to be in but frustrating if you are trying to make a snowman! Get in too early in a fall of snow like that and you end up with a yucky muddy snowman. Wait and you can create one that lasts long into the spring melt.

So I need to just sit and allow those flakes to fall until they are deep enough to make my snowman. Holding that picture helps me to feel less frustrated and controlling and more quiet and open to change as it presents itself.

Enjoy your snowfalls!

Quick Tips to Deal with Change – 5 ways get out of reactivity and into responding with authenticity

by Gay Landeta

Some people love change, some hate it but most of us experience mixed feelings about it at some time or another. This is because there are so many factors involved in the actual process that is change, psychological being the most challenging for most of us.

Wikipedia says psychological topics include perception, cognition, attention, emotion, motivation, brain functioning, personality, behavior, and interpersonal relationships. Whew. When you think about it, it becomes fairly obvious that some or many of those areas will be challenged during the process of change.

Very often, once several of those areas are challenged we move into a ‘fight or flight’ reaction to life. Fight or flight means just that – it is a survival mechanism where once we would either fight the sabre tooth tiger or flee. It is useful in our system in short blasts – not so healthy long term.

Futurist Faith Popcorn suggests that during change, the fight or flight response activated by the philological challenges, result in “cocooning” (cutting our self off from all those around us to try to ignore what is happening) or through actively resisting change through negativity, destructive criticism, even sabotage.

Obviously these tactics are not congruent with a peaceful, harmonious and connected life!

In this article I am going to offer you a handful of tips that can take you out of the reactivity of fight or flight and into being pro-active.

Try them, see which work for you and add your own little helpers to the list. Then, when you notice yourself hiding away or becoming negative and obstructional you will have a few tactics up your sleeve! Read the rest of this entry »
