As we move towards the second month of 2013, billions of people around the globe are preparing for the Chinese New Year. 2013 is the Year of the Water Snake.
The self-reliant snake is a complex creature, it has an eye for detail and extremely calculating. It is quiet and unassuming; they humbly work alone and are remembered mostly for the most memorable accomplishments. When they strike – they hit the mark.
Snakes can teach us that to be successful it is essential to plan, prepare and to do so quietly. Snakes can also be a lot of fun, they are great dancers when they want to be and exude charisma and confidence.
What I find most inspiring in a snake is their ability to shed skins when they no longer fit them. Unlike us, we struggle to keep wearing that reality that no longer serves. Not snakes…
Perhaps it’s a wise idea tothink of how you can adopt some of these characteristics into your daily life to make sure YOU Create the Life you Want to Live this Year.
I trust that you all celebrated the recent festivities with loved ones and had some time to ponder the past 12 months… and the potential in the next 12 to come.
It is New Moon time at the moment – exact at 545 Saturday the 12th – hope you spend some time making some wishes for 2013 over the next day or so – anytime over the weekend after lunch on Saturday would be nice timing.
This time of year is a great pivot point for reflection, contemplation and planning. However, although New Year Resolutions are easy to make, they are often more challenging to keep.
In order to assist people on their New Year journey we hosted the ‘Create Your Year’ workshop here are the Create clinic on the 5th of January. Due to the demand, we are planning on hosting another Create your Year Workshop on Sunday the 3rd of February to align with the energy of the Chinese New Year.
People often like the idea of a goal but have trouble making them happen – or they just don’t give them a go – to help people align and manifest their intentions Ichoose a different focus area at the Create your Year Workshop.
This time it was the trick of walking the line between ‘Action’ and ‘Non Action’.The thinking up and setting up of those grand plans, while also doing the work to get them. The key is to flow between visioning and doing… they are both important.Without the idea, we have no point to work towards. Without the doing, we have no way of getting there. However, all of one gets nothing done.
HEADS UP! … Astrologers are saying this a powerful time, I reckon this kind of information is always nice to know if you are feeling just a tad crazy! We are in a post full moon period in Scorpio energy. Scorpio offers us the chance to let go of what we really don’t need any more. It encourages us to dive deep into the hidden recesses of our psyche.
With Mercury just gone retrograde (and will be till November 26th) watch out for communication issues and challenges with communication equipment, computers and the like – make sure you have backed up everything and leave signing of contracts and buying of new technology till the end of November.
Personally, Mercury Retrograde is all about going back over old ‘stuff’ so with the Scorpion energy you may well find yourself able to get some clarity on issues that have been evading you for a while. The next few weeks are a great time to harvest inner wisdom and connect deeply with your true voice. It is also a great healing time, perhaps in your dreams.
You can use the energy of this with the next New Moon – for wishing – on November 14th. With Mercury Retrograde you have the opportunity to transform out dated ways of acting and being and combined with the Solar Eclipse you will have an extra bit of support to accept the changes and transformations needed to grow.
The Essence of the Month often very clearly reflects the opportunity for growth the planets are offering – this month the essence that emerged was:

The Dragon is living up to its reputation. The Chinese New Year of 2012 begins very early on Monday January 23rd at the New Moon and is the beginning of the traditional Chinese calendar. The New Year begins another new zodiac animal cycle, the Year of the fearsome and heavenly Dragon. Chinese tradition employs both Solar and Lunar calendars and at the Solar calendar, its the 5th February but the New Moon day of 23rd January begins the official Lunar New Year celebrations.
The New Moon is at 6.40 pm (DST) in Australia and the Moon is at 3 degrees of Aquarius. The world time is 7.40 am (UT).
2011 was Year of the Metal Rabbit and what dramatic year we had! Now in the cycle of the twelve comes the powerful and the winged creature of all the animals of the zodiac, the creative dynamic Dragon. Its fitting that the year 2012 with all its attendant mythology and identification with the “end of the world” is ruled by the legendary Dragon whose reputation goes back through all cultures of the planet. 11:11:11 is coming up – a day strongly aspected with 11 symbology. In addition to the numerological significance (11 is said to be a master number) there has been much written about the 11:11 doorway which is part of the December 2012 mythology. All of these dates and events are said to be opening us up to higher dimensions and better ways of being. Certainly I am seeing people working with major transformations right now in the clinic.
We also have the added bonus of the 11th directly following the full moon (letting go!) that happens on the 10th.
I feel that the interesting thing about any of these dates is the impact that we can have if we work with them…. Research proves that only 1% of people are needed to change anything…. Imagine how many people will be meditating for peace on the 11th or doing something spiritually enlightening? I would invite you to join by spending a few minutes in silence at 11:11. If that won’t work how about stopping sometime at 11 minutes after the hour – you will be joining others somewhere in the world! Another neat idea could be to spend a few moments each hour at 11 minutes past! Just set your phone or watch for hourly reminders.
Another very cool thing that is taking place on 11:11:11 is the media event One Day on Earth, where people all over the world will record their human experience over a 24-hour period. This event will enable them to contribute their voice to the second annual global day of media creation. You can be part of it by signing up at One Day on Earth
I just got a new bff – a puppy (you probably know if you have friended me on facebook or joined my like page https://www.facebook.com/Createthelifeyouwanttolive ) … she’s been on my wish list for a few years and she just waltzed into my life… watching her has reminded me of the wisdom of just taking life a wiggle at a time!

I just read this post from Jan Spiller and thought I would pass it on. Jan is writing from the perspective of the East Coast USA, ie her 3rd is our 2nd so things may already be feeling a little wobbly, if so let it settle before you make any major decisions.
I found it interesting that the essence of the month for September is ‘Go!’ . ‘Open up to limitless opportunities, let go, forgive and move on!’ I think that epitomizes the balance that is needed this month for shifting forward from a balanced and whole place within.
….September 1st, 2011…. A desire to rebel against those structures that are limited and that have outworn their usefulness, paired with opportunities to get more in touch with your true desires, will be this month’s predominant theme.
A Moon Wobble occurs on the 12th, the effects of which will be felt from the 3rd to the 16th. Moon Wobbles always stir up emotional energy, and people become more reactive under their influence. The primary danger associated with a Moon Wobble is a tendency to make too-quick decisions based on emotional impulse.
